Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and your listing reverts to Free at the end of the billing period. There are no cancellation fees.
How does the 20% deposit work?
When a client confirms a booking, they pay a 20% deposit via Stripe. Mahal retains a 5% platform fee (3% for Premium) and the rest is paid out to your connected Stripe account. The client pays the remaining 80% directly to you as agreed. Connect Stripe in your owner dashboard to enable this.
What does “priority placement” mean in practice?
In search results and category pages, Free listings are ranked after Featured and Premium listings. Within the Featured/Premium tier, placement is determined by listing completeness, response rate, and review score — all metrics you can improve from your dashboard.
Is there a setup fee?
No. Creating a listing is always free. You only pay a plan subscription if you choose to upgrade, and only after your listing is approved.
How long does listing approval take?
Free and Featured listings are reviewed within 48 hours. Premium listings are reviewed within 24 hours. Our team checks photo quality, description accuracy, and category fit before approving.
Do you support venues outside Morocco?
Mahal is currently Morocco-focused. We are expanding to the broader MENA region in 2026. If you have a venue in the UAE, Egypt, or Saudi Arabia, get in touch — we’re selecting launch partners now.
Can I upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle?
You can upgrade at any time — the new plan takes effect immediately and you are billed a prorated amount. Downgrades take effect at the next billing date.
What payment methods are accepted?
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe and accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Local payment methods (Carte Maroc, CMI) are planned for late 2026.
